At just 18 years old, she’s perhaps the youngest woman in professional drag racing, and Dystany “NDYIAN PRYNCESS” Spurlock is already burning her mark into the sport! Q. How long have you been riding bikes?
A. I started riding just 1 year ago. I had been going to the track with my friend for about
4 years, just watching and learning. When I turned 17, I asked my mom to let me race.
Both of my parents ride, and I had ridden on the back for years. I learned to actually
ride on my own in 4 hours.
Q. That’s Amazing! Did you actually have a license to ride when you began racing?
A. I actually started drag racing before I had my motorcycle license.
Q. The new season starts in March. How do you feel going into it?
A. I’m excited, I can’t wait!
Q. Tell us about the bike you’ll be riding this season…
A. I’m riding the BMW S1000 RR and I love it! This bike is superfast!
It takes off like a rocket!
Q. How did you start working with BMW?
A. I met Brock (of Brock’s Performance) through Rickey Gadson.
Brock allowed me to test ride the stock BMW S1000 RR and I set
a record of 163 MPH in 8.61 seconds. Ever since, I’ve been in love
with the BMW’s performance.
Q. Where can we see you race?
A. I’ll be participating in the Spring Bike Open in Rockingham, NC
on March 19th & 20th. It’s my first race of the season. I’m
super nervous, but ready at the same time!
Q. What’s next for you in the future?
A. Speed boats, Moto GP, NHRA and starting my
foundation in support of Breast Cancer Research and
Kids After School Programs. My Aunt on my Mom’s
side is a survivor of breast cancer. I have a tattoo of
the breast cancer ribbon in honor of my aunt. I also
love talking to younger kids so they can be aware of the
disease. I love kids! Whatever a kid needs, I’m there!
I would like to open a sports center for underpriveleged
kids, because I feel like no kid should have to suffer. Kids
should be able to live their lives carefree.
