BGR got the opportunity to chat with the ladies of Cali Angels LAMC. So if you’ve ever wanted to know more about them, read on!

ChocoLatte’ – President of Cali Angels MC

Please give a brief history of the club.

Cali Angels was established in Los Angeles, CA in 2013. Active Founding Motorcycle Club members include President ChocoLatte’, SweeTee Vice President & Itty Bitty. Auxiliary Members include Mz. Razzz and Kik Kak. Non-active founders include Klassy, Chocolate Drop, Princess, Remy Red, L7ven, and Heaven.

What is the club’s mission or motto?

Cali Angels’ mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of women and children of our community, by promoting and supporting a variety of community service projects with a concentrated focus on cancer initiatives. Cali Angels also promote fun and safety while riding, as well as enjoying the female camaraderie within the motorcycle community. We host various events throughout the year for all to enjoy. In addition, we work closely with other motorcycle clubs along the West Coast in order to promote motorcycle and community service functions.

What is the criteria for membership?

Members must be female, 18 years or older, and want to be a part of a strong and positive sisterhood. Motorcycle Club members must have current M1 license, registration, and insurance and own a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Members must also host two community service events, two motorcycle events and ride 500 miles on the ground with a fully patched member.

What challenges have you faced as a woman in a Motorcycle Club?

One of our challenges is just being respected as female riders in the male-dominated motorcycle set.

What annual events do you promote?

May –  Annual Picnic, October – Annual Dance, Compton Walk for a Cure, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.

What are your favorite cities or roads to ride?

Arizona is a cool ride as a club, not too far but far enough.

What should a woman look for in a Motorcycle Club?

Look for like-minded women that are supportive and share common interests and goals. Hang around them and get to know the members. Do you think they have your back? No club is perfect. But ask yourself, will they be perfect for me?

What does your club look for in a member?

We look for women that can add to the club to help it continue to grow in a positive way. Quality not Quantity.

Are there any last words you’d like to leave us with?

We are our sister’s keeper and we are proud to be called “Cali Angels LAMC”  #proudtobeanangel #demangels

I want to preference my message with congratulating Cali Angels for your beautiful Black Girls Ride online magazine. If I may suggest you provide a short bio of each of your members because the world needs to know who these BEAUTIFUL BLACK LADIES ARE.

As founder and CEO of Club C.A.R.S.O.N. a 501-C-3 Non-Profit Organization based in the City of Carson, CA I want to thank Cali Angels for your support of our 2020 “Grab & Go“ BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT.

The event was held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM and served families throughout the southland. No one went home without having received a back pack filled with educational supplies and a draw-string snack bag filled with delicious/healthy snacks and bottled water.

The Angels were courteous, polite, and demonstrated professionalism fitting for mentoring other young women and girls. Kudos to CALI ANGELES for a job Well Done!!!
I am Dr. Vergie Ruffin-Seymore
