“Although I don’t own a bike, yet I’m already hooked and plan to ride forever.
Originally my sister and I were going to learn to ride together. Our brother got us a dirt bike to ride around the house and we loved it!
Unfortunately, my sister was diagnosed with colon cancer in August 2019 and passed away on January 3rd of this year. She wanted to ride out of excitement. I wanted to ride to conquer my fears. Therefore, I decided to ride for both of us.
In May, I took the motorcycle training and passed! On May 29th, my father let me drive his Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight 1200 in front of our house and that day we had our first annual ride for Janell (my sister).
I road on the back of my brothers’ bike as we led the motorcycles and cars that followed. It was a powerful experience and definitely my favorite.
We had a ride in memory of her on Feb 7th of this year and that was my first time being part of a motorcycle ride. The unity is amazing and made everything even more special.”
