“In 1997, after 16 yrs of service in the USAF, I was medically retired after an unsuccessful spinal surgery and constant pain.
At 37 years old I had a family to raise, disabled, on massive amounts of pain meds, antidepressants and my quality of life was very limiting.
Fast forward to 2017, kids are grown and out, so now it’s my time.
I decided that I’m going to be as proactive as possible with my health. Well with medical intervention I lost close to 100 Lbs! With this weight loss, pain decreased, medication decreased, and my quality of life went through the roof!
In April 2019, I bought my Ryker 600 and named her “SEXE”. Riding is my therapy; it allows me to think, and most importantly it’s something I did just for ME.
Black women do and give so much to everyone, EXCEPT ourselves! I want to encourage more of us Black women to venture into the world of riding.”
